CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Model Reduction of Parametric Differential-Algebraic Systems by Balanced Truncation

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems
We deduce a procedure to apply balanced truncation to parameter-dependent differential-algebraic systems. For that we solve multiple projected Lyapunov equations for different parameter values to compute the Gramians that are required for the truncation ...

Identification of dynamic systems, theory and formulation [PDF]

open access: yes
The problem of estimating parameters of dynamic systems is addressed in order to present the theoretical basis of system identification and parameter estimation in a manner that is complete and rigorous, yet understandable with minimal prerequisites ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

ERROR ESTIMATION AND ADAPTIVITY IN ELASTOPLASTICITY

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1996
Summary: A method is developed to control the parameters of a finite element computation for time-dependent material models. To evaluate discretization errors, we use a global error measure in constitutive relation based on Drucker's inequality. This error includes, over the studied time interval, the error of the finite element model and the error of ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Control by model error estimation [PDF]

open access: yes
Modern control theory relies upon the fidelity of the mathematical model of the system. Truncated modes, external disturbances, and parameter errors in linear system models are corrected by augmenting to the original system of equations an 'error system'

CAVITY FLOW OF FLUID UNDER GRAVITY AROUND THE ANNULAR LIP ACCORDING TO THE RYABUSHINSKY SCHEME

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2013
The paper focuses on cavity flow of the ideal weight fluid around a circular cylinder using the Ryabushinsky scheme. The form of the free boundary is calculated and dependences of resistance, fluid velocity at the highest point of the cavityboundary, the
