Transcriptome Comparison Reveals Key Components of Nuptial Plumage Coloration in Crested Ibis
Nuptial plumage coloration is critical in the mating choice of the crested ibis. This species has a characteristic nuptial plumage that develops from the application of a black sticky substance, secreted by a patch of skin in the throat and neck region ...

A total of 3378 self‐reported treated and untreated hair samples were analyzed for PTCA and PTeCA by LC‐MS/MS. Moreover, their in vitro formation was assessed in 225 untreated hair by different cosmetic treatments with and without oxidative agents. Data suggest that PTeCA could be a reliable marker for oxidative cosmetic treatments in hair.

ABSTRACT Background Acne‐induced post‐inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIHP) is a frequent condition. 2‐mercaptonicotinoyl glycine (2‐MNG) is an innovative anti‐pigmenting molecule. Aims The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy and tolerability of two routines in the treatment of PIHP: 2‐MNG‐containing serum + SPF50+/UVA sunscreen versus ...

Ultrafast dynamics of the eumelanin pigment [PDF]

Ultraviolet (UV) solar radiation can cause many hazardous effects in human body. It is highly carcinogenic; exposure to the sun radiation is leading to the malignant melanoma – the most aggressive and widely spread skin cancer. Most organic (including bioorganic) molecules can absorb the UV light which leads to the DNA photo-damage ...
