In this review, we critically summarized the application of natural polysaccharides (NPs) for the treatment of IBD. This approach combines, in a unique way (right), the basic structure–activity relationships of NPs from different origins (left) with their multipronged mode of action, which involves modulation of the gut microbiota and other ...

Nanoplastics: Methods, Exposure and Effects on Domestic, Farm and Wild Animals
ABSTRACT Nanoplastics (NPs) are synthetic polymer particles ranging in size from 1 nm to 1 μm that have been identified as a major concern for ecosystems and organisms due to their plethora of negative effects. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge relating to exposure and effects of NPs in domestic (i.e., farm ...

Noncanonical Nucleotides in the Genome Around the Maternal‐Zygotic Transition
In this paper, Kazzazi et al. provide a comprehensive review of the dynamics of nonconventional nucleotides in the genome during early developmental stages, hypothesizing a potential role for these nucleotides in the activation of the zygotic genome. ABSTRACT From the very moment of fertilization and throughout development, the cells of animal embryos ...

“Age” determination of European flat oysters from the Voordelta reef [PDF]
Twelve european flat oysters (Ostrea edulis) from the Voordelta (Netherlands) were aged by counting internal growthlines. Oldest found oyster was 14 years and was collected in December 2015. The results show that this is the case for 5 out of 12 of the analyzed oysters and thus have settled before 2008.
