The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Oryctolagus cuniculus Linneaus, 1758 (Mammalia: Lagomorpha: Leporidae): new record in the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Patagonia, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yesCheck List, 2014
Biological invasions are difficult to control when invader’s populations attain high densities; therefore early detection is important for implementing management strategies.

Modelling for research on chemical control of mammals in New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Development of predictive formulae or qualitative statements about the probable outcome of control campaigns entails knowledge of bait quality and distribution, behaviour, vagaries of weather at the time of the control campaign, and other factors which ...

Deactivation in the rabbit left ventricle induced by constant ejection flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A study of pressure generated by the left ventricle after ejection with constant flow for different values of the ejection flow, flow duration, time of flow arrest, and ventricular volume is discussed.

RABBIT PRODUCTION IN EAST EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

open access: yesWorld Rabbit Science, 2010
[EN] Despite their old tradition and their 1 O % of the world meat rabbit production, there is few available information concerning rabbit breeding in the East European Countries. This study summarizes the rabbit meat production in this geographic area. In Bulgarla, the rabbit production is traditional and selfconsumption orientad. A slight exportation

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...

Pseudogenization of the MCP-2/CCL8 chemokine gene in European rabbit (genus Oryctolagus), but not in species of Cottontail rabbit (Sylvilagus) and Hare (Lepus)

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2012
Background Recent studies in human have highlighted the importance of the monocyte chemotactic proteins (MCP) in leukocyte trafficking and their effects in inflammatory processes, tumor progression, and HIV-1 infection.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
