The main evolutionary pathways of massive hierarchical triple stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Context. So far, stellar population studies have mainly focused on the evolution of single and binary stars. Recent observations show that triple and higher order multiple star systems are ubiquitous in the local population, especially among massive ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The influences of the mechanical equilibrium among interfacial tensions at triple junction on the morphological evolution of eutectic lamella

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In this work, the influence of the mechanical equilibrium among interfacial tensions at three-phase triple junctions on the morphological evolution of growing eutectic lamella was quantitatively investigated through the phase-field simulations.

Hyperspectral Probing of Exciton dynamics and Multiplication in PbSe Nanocrystals

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Height time hyperspectral near IR probing providing broad-band coverage is employed on PbSe nanocrystals, uncovering spectral evolution following high energy photo-excitation due to hot exciton relaxation and recombination.

Groomed jet mass as a direct probe of collinear parton dynamics

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We study the link between parton dynamics in the collinear limit and the logarithmically enhanced terms of the groomed jet mass distribution, for jets groomed with the modified mass-drop tagger (mMDT).

EVOLUTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE TRIPLE HELIX MODEL IN TURKEY

open access: yesInterConf, 2021
The triple helix cooperation is in on-going development process in Turkey. Government is starting initiatives and supporting the industry and universities with various financial incentives and opportunities. Turkish and Kazakh “research universities” have a special status, and they are expected to produce knowledge that will be of great significance ...

Triple-Function Electrolyte Regulation toward Advanced Aqueous Zn-Ion Batteries

open access: yes, 2022
The poor Zn reversibility has been criticized for limiting applications of aqueous Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs); however, its behavior in aqueous media is not fully uncovered yet.
