Excess gibbs free energy of mixing
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1993Abstract Narayanan, K.V. and Ananth, M.S., 1993. Excess Gibbs free energy of mixing. Fluid Phase Equilibria, 91: 77-86. The statistical mechanical approach to developing excess Gibbs free energy models for liquids using lattice theories in the Canonical ensemble is reexamined numerically in the light of the fundamental observations of Sandler et al.

Limitations of modern expressions for the excess Gibbs energy
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1983Abstract The rational design of separation processes, such as distillation, extraction, etc., requires quantitative information on the phase equilibria of binary and multicomponent systems primarily as a function of composition and temperature. At low or moderate pressure Gibbs energy models are usually used in combination with a truncated form of ...

Excess Gibbs energies of liquid binary mixtures.
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1991Abstract A head-space gas chromatographic technique has been used to determine vapour—liquid equilibria for binary mixtures of: cyclohexane+an aldehyde (ethanal, butanal, pentanal); tetrachloromethane+ethanal, +pentanal and +cyclobutanone; and heptane+cyclobutanone or+a diketone (2,3-butanedione, 2,5-hexanedione). Excess molar Gibbs energies, GE, for

Excess enthalpies, excess volumes, and excess Gibbs free energies are reported over the entire composition range for (methylcyclohexane + n -hexane) at 298.15 and 308.15 K. Excess Gibbs free energies and excess volumes are reported over the entire composition range for (cyclohexane + n -hexane) at the same temperatures.

On the equations for excess Gibbs energy
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1989Abstract Excess Gibbs energy values for selected vapor-liquid equilibrium systems modelled by the gamma/phi formulation were calculated from the conventional equation which is based on Raoult's law being the reference system and from equations for which the standard states correspond to the actual states of the pure components.

Excess enthalpies HE and excess volumes VE of cycloheptane + 2,3-dimethylbutane have been measured at 288.15, 298.15, and 308.15 K. The excess Gibbs free energies GE at these temperatures have been calculated from vapour pressure measurements on the mixtures at 298.15 K and the temperature dependence of the excess enthalpy. GE(x) has a maximum value of

The Excess Gibbs Free Energies of Chloromethane with Iso-butanol
Physics and Chemistry of Liquids, 1988Abstract Isobaric boiling point data for the systems of 1,1,1-trichloroethane and 1,1,2,2-tetra-chloroethane with iso-butanol have been measured over the whole composition range at 300, 500 and 700 mmHg. The experimental t-x data have been used to predict Wilson parameters and equilibrium vapour compositions.

Excess Gibbs Energy and Activities
2016Besides the fact that the introduction of the activities permits, among other processes, to quantify chemical equilibria when the behaviors of the fluids of the studied system are not ideal, it must be noticed that it also constitutes a means to study nonideal solutions.

An excess Gibbs free energy model for polyelectrolyte solutions
Fluid Phase Equilibria, 1989Abstract The current models for polyelectrolyte solutions are valid only at infinite dilution because they account exclusively for long-range interactions and completely ignore the discrete nature of the charged groups. In this work, a local composition model of the Non Random Two-Liquid (NRTL) type is introduced to describe cylindrical ...
