Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Novel Flexible Excitation System Based on MultilevelTopology Technology
Based on the development trend of the next generation power system, a novel flexible excitation system is designed based on three-level voltage source converter, and a matching five-level DC chopping circuit is proposed.

Dynanics of a vehicle-track coupling system at a rail joint
The dynamic behaviour at a rail joint is examined using a two-dimensional vehicle–track coupling model. The track system is described as a finite-length beam resting on a double-layer discrete viscous-elastic foundation.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Dynamics of active systems with nonlinear excitation of the phase [PDF]
Many physical and chemical systems exhibit self-oscillatory dynamics, for example systems involving the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction and systems used for material synthesis by solid-phase combustion, known as self-propagating high-temperature synthesis.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Inclined cables are important structural elements of cable-stayed bridges. When the bridge deck oscillates, large amplitude cable vibrations can arise in various modes as a result of the low cable damping, parametric excitation or non-linear modal ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Segmented excitation for electrical capacitance tomography [PDF]
Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) system offers a non-invasive measurement for flow properties within pipelines. The resolution of the images can be improved by utilizing more electrodes within the sensing area which causes reduction in size, but ...
