Nasal Airway Transcriptome Reflects Selected Asthma‐Associated Gene Signatures in the Lower Airways
Seven genes and two gene modules were consistently associated with asthma in both airway compartments in ARMS and were validated in ATLANTIS. Chronic airway inflammation is a central feature of pathology of bronchial asthma. In order to evaluate inflammatory status in asthma, examinations such as bronchoscope or induced sputum test can be done. Because of difficulty of those examinations we need non-invasive and simple measures for childhood asthma.

Adipokine secretion from adipose tissue may be involved in obesity‐related asthma, but it is unknown how adipokine levels relate to asthma characteristics. Plasma adipokines were measured in well‐characterized lean, overweight or obese patients with mild‐to‐moderate or severe asthma.
