Screening for cellulases and preliminary optimisation of glucose tolerant β-glucosidase production and characterisation

open access: yesMycology, 2023
The search for a novel microbial producer of cellulases including a glucose tolerant β-glucosidase is a challenge as most are inhibited by their product glucose.

Hydrolysis of corncobs using a mixture of crude enzymes from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger for bioethanol production

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
Corn plant produce waste as corncobs about 30% that relatively high and has not been utilized maximally. Corncobs are potential raw material for producing bioethanol. It composed of 41% cellulose, 36% Hemicellulose, 16% lignin and 7% water content.

Exo- and endoglucanase production by Curvularia affinis using bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) waste biomass

open access: yesBioresources and Bioprocessing, 2020
Background In many countries, agricultural residues are generated in large quantities, and most of these are underutilized and considered waste, especially in developing countries.

Properties of exoglucanase from Aspergillus niger.

open access: yesThe Journal of General and Applied Microbiology, 1990
Exoglucanase (EC 3.2.1.91) was partially purified from Aspergillus niger. The enzyme was stable at room temperature in the pH range of 4.0-6.0 for 24h, with the optimum at 5.5. The enzyme had an optimum temperature of 50°C and a t1/2 at 65°C was 70min. Km and Vmax values were found to be 55.5mg/ml and 0.9μM/min, respectively.

Construction of a trifunctional cellulase and expression in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using a fusion protein

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2018
Background Cellulose is the most important component of lignocellulose, and its degradation requires three different types of enzymes to act synergistically. There have been reports of single gene duality, but no gene has been described to have more than

CELLULASE PRODUCTION BY Bacillus subtilis M1 USING PRETREATED GROUNDNUT SHELL BASED LIQUID STATE FERMENTATION

open access: yesBiotropia: The Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical Biology, 2016
Groundnut shell which is rich in natural cellulose was assessed as a substrate for production of cellulase enzyme by cellulolytic bacteria. In the present investigation the bacterial isolate Bacillus subtilis M1 was found to be capable of producing high

Expression of the exoglucanase gene in yeast and hyphal forms ofCandida albicans [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1993
The gene for the beta-(1,3) exoglucanase of Candida albicans was used as a probe to detect transcripts of related genes in C. albicans and in several other Candida species. A single homologous transcript was detected in all of the species tested. Expression of the exoglucanase gene in C.

Exoglucanase activities of the recombinant Clostridium thermocellum CelS, a major cellulosome component [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1995
The recombinant CelS (rCelS), the most abundant catalytic subunit of the Clostridium thermocellum cellulosome, displayed typical exoglucanase characteristics, including (i) a preference for amorphous or crystalline cellulose over carboxymethyl cellulose, (ii) an inability to reduce the viscosity of a carboxymethyl cellulose solution, and (iii) the ...
