Computational mechanics in science, applications and teaching [PDF]
We express our opinion about the role of Computational Mechanics (CM) in science, applications and education. The presented thoughts rely on our experience gained by working over decades (first author in particular) in the field of CM. First, as

Progress on the experimental set-up for the testing of a floating offshore wind turbine scaled model in a field site [PDF]
This document describes design and realization of a small-scale field experiment on a 1:30 model of spar floating support structure for offshore wind turbines. The aim of the experiment is to investigate the dynamic behaviour of the floating wind turbine

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A Model-Based Approach for Common Representation and Description of Robotics Software Architectures
Unlike conventional software, robotic software suffers from a lack of methods and processes that could systematize and facilitate development. Thus, the application of software engineering techniques is at the heart of current issues in robotics.

EXEMPLAR: An Experimental Information Repository for Software Engineering Research [PDF]
The number and variety of experiments carried in software engineering research is growing, leading to a increasing need of replication and review. In order to support such needs the information about experiments should be provided as lab-packs comprising

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
