Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Enhancing Oncological Care for India's Aging Population: Addressing the Complex Needs of Older Adults With Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Aging‐associated physiological and molecular alterations pose significant challenges in cancer management among India's elderly. Limited geriatric oncology expertise, financial constraints, and inadequate specialized care exacerbate disparities. Strategic expansion of insurance coverage, integration of palliative care, and infrastructural advancements ...

Comparative Analysis of Load Profile between Small-Sided Games and Official Matches in Youth Soccer Players

open access: yesSports, 2018
The purposes of the present study are: (a) to characterize the external (eTL) and internal load (iTL) of official matches and small-sided games (SSGs) in relation to their objective, (b) to compare demands between SSG, and (c) to analyze the SSG ...

Analysis of magnetostriction on external load by F.E.M.

open access: yesJournal of the Magnetics Society of Japan, 1986
Has been required, but the most effective countermeasure to the noise of electrical machinery has not yet been devised. The main factor causing the noise and vibration in the composed transformer is magnetostriction. The magnetostriction is very sensitive to stress and heat. This paper deals with a formulation for analysis of the magnetostriction on ...

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

Prediction of Myasthenia Gravis Worsening: A Machine Learning Algorithm Using Wearables and Patient‐Reported Measures

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness with potential life‐threatening crises. Timely interventions may be delayed by limited access to care and fragmented documentation. Our objective was to develop predictive algorithms for MG deterioration using multimodal telemedicine data ...

Use of Symptomatic Drug Treatment for Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis and Patterns of Work Loss

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To describe the use of central stimulants and amantadine for fatigue in MS and evaluate a potential association with reduced work loss in people with MS. Methods We conducted a nationwide, matched, register‐based cohort study in Sweden (2006 to 2023) using national registers with prospective data collection.

Differences in external loads of different pitch types in Chinese male college baseball players

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living
BackgroundIn baseball, monitoring player load solely through pitch count and innings overlooks the variability introduced by different pitch types. This study analyzed differences in external load, measured as Player Load, across various pitch types ...
