Clotting protein – An extracellular matrix (ECM) protein involved in crustacean hematopoiesis
Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2018Hematopoietic progenitor cells in crustaceans are organized in lobule-like structures surrounded by different types of cells and extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins in a Hematopoietic tissue (HPT). Here we show that the clotting protein (CP) is part of the ECM in HPT and is secreted during HPT cell culture.

The Role of Mechanical Stimulation in Engineering of Extracellular Matrix (ECM)
2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006The engineering of ECM in vitro is a critical area of research in tissue engineering. Cells respond to mechanical stimuli and regulate the metabolic functions via mechanotransduction and synthesise ECM. This paper reviews key pathways. In vitro studies of mechanotransduction on macroscopic tissues in specialised automated bioreactors that are capable ...

Epithelial-Extracellular Matrix (Cell-ECM) Interactions in Hydra
2005As a member of the Phylum, Cnidaria, hydra is organized a simple gastric tube with a head and foot pole. The entire body wall of hydra is organized as a epithelial bilayer with an intervening extracellular matrix (ECM). The major components of hydra ECM are highly conserved and reflect those seen in vertebrate systems. These components include laminin,

Role of PAK4 in extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation
2014Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM) Degradation is one of the properties of metastatic cancer cells. A membrane structure called invadopodia is thought to be responsible to this property in cancer cells. It has been found in some invasive cancer cell but not yet in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). PAK4 belongs to the p21-associated kinases family.
