The role of sphingosine kinase (SPHK) in the dibutyryl cyclic AMP (dbcAMP)-induced granulocytic differentiation of HL60 cells was investigated. During differentiation, SPHK activity was increased, as were mRNA and protein levels of SPHK1, but not of SPHK2.
