Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Axionic charged black branes with arbitrary scalar nonminimal coupling

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
In this paper, we construct four-dimensional charged black branes of a nonminimally coupled and self-interacting scalar field. In addition to the scalar and Maxwell fields, the model involves two axionic fields homogeneously distributed along the two ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Probing 4-Dimensional Nonsupersymmetric Black Holes Carrying D0- and D6-brane charges [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss a 4-dimensional nonsupersymmetric black hole solution to low energy type IIA string theory which carries D0- and D6-brane charges. For equal charges this solution reduces to the one discussed recently by Sheinblatt.

D = 5 rotating black holes in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity: mass and angular momentum in extremality

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We consider perturbative solutions in Einstein gravity with higher-derivative extensions and address some subtle issues of taking extremal limit. As a concrete new result, we construct the perturbative rotating black hole in five dimensions with equal ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Boundedness of the extremal solutions in dimension 4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we establish the boundedness of the extremal solution u^* in dimension N=4 of the semilinear elliptic equation $-\Delta u=\lambda f(u)$, in a general smooth bounded domain Omega of R^N, with Dirichlet data $u|_{\partial \Omega}=0$, where f ...

Extremal rotating black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory: radially excited solutions and non-uniqueness

open access: yes, 2015
We study 5-dimensional black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with free Chern-Simons coupling parameter. We consider an event horizon with spherical topology, and both angular momenta of equal magnitude.

Logarithmic corrections for near-extremal Kerr-Newman Black holes

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper, we computed the logarithmic corrections of entropy for the near-extremal Kerr-Newman black holes in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 supergravity theory applying the Euclidean path integral approach in near-horizon geometry.

Non-perturbative decay of non-Abelian hair

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We construct a solution of Heterotic supergravity which interpolates between two different AdS3 × S3 × T4 geometries corresponding to the near-horizon limits of two 5-dimensional black holes, only one of which has non-Abelian hair.
