Saddle point inflation from f(R) theory
We analyse several saddle point inflationary scenarios based on power-law f(R) models. We investigate inflation resulting from f(R)=R+αnM2(1−n)Rn+αn+1M−2nRn+1 and f(R)=∑nlαnM2(1−n)Rn as well as l→∞ limit of the latter. In all cases we have found relation

General F-theory models with tuned (SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1))/ℤ6 symmetry
We construct a general form for an F-theory Weierstrass model over a general base giving a 6D or 4D supergravity theory with gauge group (SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1))/ℤ6 and generic associated matter, which includes the matter content of the standard model. The

F-theory on 6D symmetric toroidal orbifolds
In this work we study F-theory on symmetric toroidal orbifolds that exhibit roto-translations, which are point group rotations accompanied by fractional lattice shifts. These geometries admit a rich class of effects, such as twisted affine folded fibers,

Intersecting brane models and F-theory in six dimensions [PDF]
We analyze six-dimensional supergravity theories coming from intersecting brane models on the toroidal orbifold T^4/Z_2. We use recently developed tools for mapping general 6D supergravity theories to F-theory to identify F-theory constructions dual to the intersecting brane models. The F-theory picture illuminates several aspects of these models.

An action for F-theory: SL ( 2 ) R + exceptional field theory [PDF]
We construct the 12-dimensional exceptional field theory (EFT) associated to the group SL ( 2 ) × R + . Demanding the closure of the algebra of local symmetries leads to a constraint, known as the section condition, that must be imposed on all fields ...

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Fluxed M5-instantons in F-theory
We analyse the non-perturbative superpotential due to M5-brane instantons in F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau fourfolds. The M5 partition function is obtained via holomorphic factorisation by explicitly performing the sum over chiral 3-form ...

The toric SO(10) F-theory landscape
Supergravity theories in more than four dimensions with grand unified gauge symmetries are an important intermediate step towards the ultraviolet completion of the Standard Model in string theory.
