Diagnostic value of plasma TFF3‐centered combined biomarker panel in early gastrointestinal cancer
In this study, a retrospective cohort was established, including gastrointestinal cancer, non‐GI cancer, and healthy controls. TFF3, CEA, and gastric function indicators were detected. TFF3 showed significantly better diagnostic performance compared with conventional gastrointestinal indicators in gastric cancer, and compared with CEA in ...

Evolutionary Mechanisms of Coagulation Factors in Cetaceans During Aquatic Adaptation
Compared with Bos taurus, T. truncatus showed shorter prothrombin time and thrombin time but prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time, indicating pathway‐specific remodeling of coagulation. Evolutionary analyses identified 18 positively selected genes and accelerated F11 evolution, while functional assays revealed increased coagulation factor ...

Factor Xa Acts as a PDGF-Independent Mitogen in Human Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells
SummaryThis study investigates the mitogenic effect of the coagulation factor Xa in smooth muscle cells (SMC) from human saphenous vein and the procoagulant activity of these cells.

Factor Xa induces cytokine production and expression of adhesion molecules by human umbilical vein endothelial cells [PDF]
Proinflammatory effects induced by the serine protease factor Xa were investigated in HUVEC. Exposure of cells to factor Xa (5-80 nM) concentration dependently stimulated the production of IL-6, IL-8, and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and the ...

Microbiome Dynamics During Translocation of the Critically Endangered Frog Craugastor ranoides
A female Craugastor ranoides fitted with an LB‐2X radio transmitter using a silicone waist‐belt harness for post‐translocation monitoring. ABSTRACT Amphibian populations are declining, and species are going extinct due to habitat loss, climate change, and emerging infectious disease, prompting the increasing use of translocations as a conservation tool.

Factor Xa represents an attractive target for antithrombotic drugs as blockade of factor Xa permits inhibition of both the extrinsic and intrinsic coagulation pathways. Several factor Xa inhibitors, such as rivaroxaban, apixaban and edoxaban, have been approved for certain conditions, and are also in clinical development for other indications.
