Pollinator‐targeted annual flower strips increase abundances of pollinators but also natural enemies and herbivores. Natural enemies and herbivores disperse in a taxon‐specific manner into nearby crops. Pest control by ground‐dwellers slightly increases in crop areas near the flower strips.

Reproductive strategies of sexually dimorphic plants vary in response to the environment. Here, we ask whether the sexual systems of Fagopyrum species (i.e., selfing homostylous and out-crossing distylous) represent distinct adaptive strategies to ...

QTL analysis of photoperiod sensitivity in common buckwheat by using markers for expressed sequence tags and photoperiod-sensitivity candidate genes [PDF]
Photoperiod sensitivity is an important trait related to crop adaptation and ecological breeding in common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench). Although photoperiod sensitivity in this species is thought to be controlled by quantitative trait loci ...

Comparative Analysis of Codon Usage Patterns in the Chloroplast Genomes of Fagopyrum Species
The non-random usage of synonymous codons encoding the same amino acid—referred to as codon usage bias (CUB)—varies substantially across genomes and significantly affects translational efficiency by modulating transcriptional and post-transcriptional ...

Endosperm protein polymorphism of common and tartary buckwheat
The endosperm protein polymorphism of seven accessions of common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) and two accessions of tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum Gaertn.) were studied by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. The position and the intensity of the
