Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Research on Calculation of Load-Bearing Capacity of Deepwater Umbilical Termination Head
The umbilical termination head(UTH)is a key hardware device of underwater umbilicals. It bears complex loads in the harsh deepwater environment and has higher requirements for the reliability of the connection system. In this paper, the deepwater UTH used ...

Failure Criteria of Gas-Infiltrated Sandy Shale Based on the Effective Stress Principle
Pore gas has a significant influence on rock strength. This study performed triaxial compression tests of gas-infiltrated sandy shale samples to investigate the strength characteristics under gas pressures of 0 and 2 MPa. The effective stress coefficient

Evaluation of closed cubic failure criterion for graphite/epoxy laminates [PDF]
An analytical method has been developed to ensure closure of the cubic form of the tensor polynomial strength criterion. The intrinsic complexity of the cubic function is such that special conditions must be met to close the failure surface in three ...

A temperature- and stress-controlled failure criterion for ice-filled permafrost rock joints
. Instability and failure of high mountain rock slopes have significantly increased since the 1990s coincident with climatic warming and are expected to rise further. Most of the observed failures in permafrost-affected rock walls are likely triggered by

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Failure assessment of a woven E-glass/vinyl ester composite subjected to large deformation loading
Woven polymer-based composites exhibit highly non-linear behavior, which often results in very high strains to failure. A micromechanical model is developed to represent the large deformation kinematics of woven composites, and develop predictions for ...
