IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

A continuum failure criterion applicable to wood

open access: yes, 2009
The failure criterion is an essential part of all strength calculations of design. It was shown in the past that the tensor-polynomial equation could be regarded as a polynomial expansion of the real failure surface. Now it is shown that the third-degree

Rational implementation of the Mohr criterion in its general form

open access: yes
The Mohr criterion is successfully implemented for brittle materials in its general form based on failure envelopes formulated using quadratic functions.

Effect of yield criterion on numerical simulation results using a stress-based failure criterion

open access: yes, 2006
Determining tearing concerns in numerical simulations of sheet metal components is difficult since the traditional failure criterion, which is strain-based, exhibits a strain path dependence.

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Critical Analysis of “Maximum Stress Failure Criterion” for Composite Materials

open access: yesThe Annals of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati. Fascicle IX, Metallurgy and Materials Science, 2009
The paper deals with critical considerations upon different points of view that were enounced by some authors referring to Maximum Stress Failure Criterion for composite materials. The considerations stem both from a comparative analysis of the mentioned

Multiscale and Failure Analysis of Periodic Lattice Structures

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A full-cycle, multiscale analysis technique was developed for periodic lattice structures with geometric repetition, aiming for more efficient modeling to predict their failure loads.
