Endothelial Cells Mediated by STING Regulate Oligodendrogenesis and Myelination During Brain Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) migrate extensively using blood vessels as physical scaffolds in the developing central nervous system. Although the association of OPCs with the vasculature is critical for migration, the regulatory mechanisms ...

RPL6 Interacts with HMGCS1 to Stabilize HIF‐1α by Promoting Cholesterol Production in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 38, October 13, 2025.
The study found that RPL6 is frequently upregulated in HCC tissues with extrahepatic metastasis. Elevated RPL6 bound to and increased the stability of HMGCS1 mRNA, thereby enhancing intracellular cholesterol levels. Subsequently, increased cholesterol promotes cancer metastasis in HCC by stabilizing HIF‐1α protein.

UV‐A Radiation Impairs Sebaceous‐Gland‐Related Skin Barrier Function by Inducing Inflammation and Altering Intracellular Sebum‐Like Lipid Composition

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 24, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Sebaceous glands (SGs) secrete sebum to form a protective barrier that maintains skin health. However, exposure to ultraviolet A (UV‐A) radiation damages the skin barrier, leading to dryness and inflammation. Aims In this study, we investigated how UV‐A radiation alters SG function, focusing on inflammation and changes in the ...

Simvastatin overcomes the pPCK1‐pLDHA‐SPRINGlac axis‐mediated ferroptosis and chemo‐immunotherapy resistance in AKT‐hyperactivated intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Communications, Volume 45, Issue 8, Page 1038-1071, August 2025.
Abstract Background Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a challenging cancer with an increasing incidence. The Phase III TOPAZ‐1/KEYNOTE‐966 study demonstrated chemo‐immunotherapy (CIT) as a significant advancement, potentially replacing traditional chemotherapy for advanced biliary tract cancer.
