The Prostate, 1999
We recently reported that drug-resistant prostate tumor cells (DU145, PC-3) are resistant to Fas-mediated killing by cytotoxic lymphocytes, and that this resistance can be overcome by treatment with subtoxic concentrations of chemotherapeutic drugs. Fas belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) family of receptors.

Serum levels of soluble Fas, soluble Fas ligand, and nuclear matrix protein (NMP) were measured in 38 patients with ischemic heart disease before and after coronary angiography or coronary intervention. Serum levels of soluble Fas, soluble Fas ligand and NMP were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Effective immunomodulation to induce tolerance to tissue/organ allografts is attained by infusion of donor lymphocytes endowed with killing capacity through ectopic expression of a short-lived Fas-ligand (FasL) protein. The same approach has proven effective in improving hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell engraftment.

Localization and Trafficking of the Death-Inducing Fas Ligand Protein in Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes
2014Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) can kill tumor cells and cells infected with intracellular pathogens. Their two major killing mechanisms are the degranulation pathway and the Fas-FasL pathway. The degranulation process consists of the release of cytolytic perforin and granzyme molecules that are stored within lysosomal granules.

[The transactivation of hepatitis B virus X protein on the expression of Fas ligand in HepG2 cells].
Zhonghua gan zang bing za zhi = Zhonghua ganzangbing zazhi = Chinese journal of hepatology, 1999To study the effect of hepatitis B virus x (HBx) protein on the expression of Fas Ligand in HepG2 cells. The open reading frame of HBx gene was obtained from HBV genome (subtype adw) digested with Nco I and Bgl II, then cloned into pCEP4. The reconstructive plasmid pCEP4x was transfected into HepG2 cells by electroportion method.

The Fas ligand (FasL) and its receptor (Fas, CD95) are a set of regulatory components in the immune system [1–4]. Activation of the Fas by FasL results in apoptosis of many cell types [5, 6], and this process has been shown to play a critical role in the maintenance of immunological homeostasis and peripheral tolerance by deletion of activated T ...
