Fast and efficient simulation of 3D creeping flow in ducts using a space‐marching algorithm
Polymer Engineering & Science, 2005AbstractIn this paper, an alternative solution algorithm for the creeping, 3D viscoelastic flow simulation is offered. It is based on the Parabolized Navier‐Stokes Equations formulation (PNSE), which reduces the 3D problem to a sequence of 2D problems marched along a preferred direction (the dominant flow in the duct). This algorithm is extended to the

Metrology of 3D-NAND structures using machine learning assisted fast marching level-sets algorithm
Metrology, Inspection, and Process Control for Microlithography XXXIV, 2020Accurate segmentation of 3D-NAND memory cells and the interfaces of different materials within is the basis of reliable metrology for 3D-NAND memory fabrication. We are proposing a machine learning assisted fast marching level sets method (FMLS) to efficiently delineate material interfaces within 3D-NAND cells. This method works with single or multiple

This paper concentrates on an efficient fast algorithm for accelerating the marching-on-in-time (MOT) — based time domain integral equation (TDIE) method for the analysis of the transient electromagnetic scattering from perfect electrically conducting (PEC). Taking advantage of the approximate evaluation of the vector and scalar potential terms and the

A Semi-automation Road Extraction Approach Based on Fast Marching Method and Mean Shift Algorithm
2009 WRI Global Congress on Intelligent Systems, 2009A method for extracting road from high spatial resolution remote sensing imagery (HSRRSI) based on Fast Marching Method and Mean Shift Method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the user inputs a set of nodes of the road. Secondly, preliminary partition on the imagery is achieved by Mean Shift Method.

To plan a global path in grid map, a hybrid two-dimensional path planning model based on frothing construction algorithm and local fast marching method is proposed. The proposed model consists of three steps. In first step, frothing construction algorithm is adopted to describe topology relationship of global passable regions in two-dimensional ...

We combine in this paper the topological gradient, which is a powerful method for edge detection in image processing, and a variant of the minimal path method in order to find connected contours. The topological gradient provides a more global analysis of the image than the standard gradient, and identifies the main edges of an image.

In this chapter, we present an accurate automated 3D liver segmentation scheme for measuring liver volumes in MR images. Our scheme consisted of five steps. First, an anisotropic diffusion smoothing filter was applied to T1-weighted MR images of the liver in the portal-venous phase to reduce noise while preserving the liver boundaries. An edge enhancer
