Intra-pancreatic fat deposition: bringing hidden fat to the fore
Development of advanced modalities for detection of fat within the pancreas has transformed understanding of the role of intra-pancreatic fat deposition (IPFD) in health and disease. There is now strong evidence for the presence of minimal (but not negligible) IPFD in healthy human pancreas. Diffuse excess IPFD, or fatty pancreas disease (FPD), is more

Molecular Regulation of Lipogenesis, Adipogenesis and Fat Deposition in Chicken
In the poultry industry, excessive fat deposition is considered an undesirable factor, affecting feed efficiency, meat production cost, meat quality, and consumer’s health.

Fat Deposition in Dilated Cardiomyopathy Assessed by CMR
ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to prospectively investigate the prevalence of fat deposition in idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) by fat-water separation imaging. An auxiliary aim was to determine the relationship between left ventricular (LV)

The Energetics of Fat Deposition during Growth
Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism, 1977Attention was paid to the levels of importance of maintenance, protein and fat deposition in growing monogastrics. Some information was presented on the composition of their daily gain. Theoretical efficiency values of fat synthesis were derived from biochemical information and compared with those found in balance trials.

Fat deposition in a double-muscled steer
Meat Science, 1981A homozygous double-muscled steer was full fed a high-energy ration for approximately 18 months to assess its potential for fat deposition. After slaughter, the carcass possessed modest quantities of intramuscular fat. The fat thickness at the 12th rib was 2·4 cm and the carcass contained about 3·5% kidney, heart and pelvic fat.

Blubber fat deposition in mysticeti whales
Canadian Journal of Zoology, 1975Blubber fats from six fin whales, four sei whales, and one humpbacked whale taken in Nova Scotian waters have been studied. Dorsal, lateral, and ventral samples were compared for thickness, fat contents of inner and outer layers, and the iodine values of the recovered fats.

Pattern of lean and fat deposition in adults
Nature, 1977THE fact that obesity becomes more common when societies change from a subsistence/labour intensive to an affluent/sedentary way of life might be taken simply as a demonstration that easy living encourages slothfulness and gluttony. Fat people, however, do not in general seem to eat more than thin ones, and there is increasing evidence of an inherited ...

Immunomodulation of fat deposition
Livestock Production Science, 1995Abstract Consumer concern about health together with resistance to the use of exogenous substances in meat production has increased the importance of developing ‘friendly’ methods to increase the lean content of meat. Immunological methods may be more consumer acceptable.
