Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Evaluation of the oil Produced from lettuce crop cultivated under three irrigation conditions

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2012
Three oil lettuce seed samples (lactuca Sativa LS10, LS20, LS30) were cultivated under three irrigation conditions (well, normal and water deficient conditions, after 10, 20 and 30 days respectively) to evaluate their oils and to see to what extent the ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Colorimetric detection of edible oil oxidation using PAN–Congo red nanofiber mats

open access: yesScientific Reports
Lipid oxidation significantly compromises the safety, nutritional quality, and shelf life of edible oils, while conventional analytical methods are costly, time-consuming, and unsuitable for real-time monitoring.

Effect of different relative humidities on the oil extracted from stored cottonseed

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 1996
Effect of different relative humidities (room, 10%, 46% and 97% R. H.) on the oil extracted from cottonseed stored for one year was studied. The oil extracted from recent non-stored cottonseed was used as a control.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

COMPARATIVE STUDY ON FLAXSEED PROTEIN PRODUCTS PREPARED BY DIFFERENT METHODS. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Soil Sciences and Agricultural Engineering, 2003
Flaxseed has gained attention lately due to its content of functional ingredients. This work deals with the preparation of refined protein products from flaxseed flour. Three protein isolates namely , flaxseed protein isolate I ,prepared by the alkali-

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
