Leishmania species: Fatty acid composition of promastigotes

Experimental Parasitology, 1974
Abstract The fatty acid composition of the total lipid fractions of five different Leishmania organisms grown on Eagle's medium was determined by gas chromatography. The major fatty acids identified in the total lipid fractions of L. donovani, L. tropica major, L. tropica minor, L. tropica (England strain), and L.

Fatty Acid Composition of California Grown Almonds

Journal of Food Science, 2008
ABSTRACT:  Eight almond ( Prunus dulcis L.) cultivars from 12 different California counties, collected during crop years 2004 to 2005 and 2005 to 2006, were extracted with petroleum ether. The extracts were subjected to GC‐MS analyses to determine fatty acid composition of

FATTY ACID COMPOSITION OF NORMAL MINK TISSUES

Canadian Journal of Biochemistry, 1966
Lipids, extracted from the adrenals, brain, erythrocytes, heart, kidney, liver, plasma, and spleen of normal healthy female mink, were transesterified with 1% sulphuric acid in methanol, and the resulting methyl esters were analyzed by gas–liquid chromatography after purification by thin-layer chromatography.

The fatty acid composition of human colostrum

European Journal of Nutrition, 2000
We reviewed 15 studies reporting on the fatty acid composition of colostrum lipids from 16 geographic regions: 11 European studies and one study each from Central America, the Caribbean, Australia and Asia. The contents of essential fatty acids, saturates and polyunsaturates were similar in the southern European countries Spain, Slovenia and France ...

Fatty acid composition of baboon milk lipids

Lipids, 1969
AbstractThe predominant fatty acids of mature baboon milk were shown by gas‐liquid chromatography to be (by weight) palmitic (16%), oleic (23%), and linoleic (38%) acids. The high proportion of linoleic acid was attributed to the corn oil in the diet. Less myristic acid (1.3%), but more caprylic (5%) and capric (8%) acids, were present in baboon milk ...

VOLATILE FATTY ACIDS AND FATTY ACID COMPOSITION OF SILAGE SPECIES

2015
In this study, total fatty acid composition and volatile fatty acid of silage species in Turkey was determined by using Gas Chromatography (Shimadzu 15-A). Total lipids were extracted from the corn silage, alfalfa silage and figure silage samples by the method of Folch et al. Silage species were a total of 15 different fatty acids.
