Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

A robust fault detection method of rolling bearings using modulation signal bispectrum analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Envelope analysis is a widely used method for bearing fault detection. To obtain high detection accuracy, it is critical to select an optimal narrowband for envelope demodulation.

Vibration-based Fault Diagnostic of a Spur Gearbox [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
This paper presents comparative studies of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) as several advanced time-frequency analysis methods for diagnosing an early stage of spur gear tooth failure. An incipient fault of a chipped tooth was investigated in this work using vibration measurements

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Adaptive State Observer for Robot Manipulators Diagnostics and Health Degree Assessment

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
To avoid serious damages caused by the dynamic environment, fault detection and health assessment are essential for an integrated robotic system. In this paper, we propose a fault detection algorithm and a health degree assessment approach for a robot ...

ANALYSIS OF FAULTS AND DIAGNOSTICS TURNOUTS

open access: yesScience and Transport Progress, 2007
The paper provides analysis of electric and mechanical defects of railway switching points. It has been establsished that mechanical defects cause failure of each sixth switching point at a station and each second at a marshalling hump during a year. Ways and means of remote continuous diagnostics of switching points have been offered.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Process fault prognosis using a fuzzy-adaptive unscented Kalman predictor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
By monitoring the future process status via information prediction, process fault prognosis is able to give an early alarm and therefore prevent faults, when the faults are still in their early stages.
