Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Fault-Recovery and Repair Modeling of Discrete Event Systems Using Petri Nets

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Despite advances in automated manufacturing systems (AMSs), faults occur from time to time, which cannot be avoided in a complex real system. A fault is one of the primary causes of failures making some AMS operations unable to complete, and the ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Coordinated Strategy to Improve Post-Fault Characteristics of Hybrid Multi-Infeed HVDC Transmission System

open access: yesEnergies
The characteristics of the dynamic reactive power demand of a hybrid multi-infeed HVDC transmission system during the post-fault recovery period are analyzed and a coordinated control strategy to improve the fault recovery characteristics of the hybrid ...

A Suppression Strategy for Subsequent Commutation Failures Considering Commutation Capability of Recovery Process

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao, 2022
In order to suppress subsequent commutation failures of high voltage direct current (HVDC), the dynamic process of electrical and control quantities during system recovery is studied, and the main reason for subsequent commutation failures is proposed in

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Asynchronous Injection-Production Process: A Method to Improve Water Flooding Recovery in Complex Fault Block Reservoirs

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, 2020
The complex fault block reservoir has the characteristics of small area and many layers in vertical. Due to the influence of formation heterogeneity and well pattern, the situation that “water fingering is serious with water injection, on the contrary, driving energy is low” frequently occurs in water flooding, which makes it difficult to enhance oil ...

An embedded KPI-based advisory framework for monitoring and diagnosis of soft sensor degradation

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Modern industrial processes rely on soft sensors to estimate process variables that are hard to measure due to expensive and sensitive hardware sensors.

Differences in perceived fairness and health outcomes in two injury compensation systems: a comparative study

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2016
Background Involvement in a compensation process following a motor vehicle collision is consistently associated with worse health status but the reasons underlying this are unclear.

DC Current Order Optimization Based Strategy for Recovery Performance Improvement of LCC-HVDC Transmission Systems

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2023
For the safe and fast recovery of line commutated converter based high-voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC) transmission systems after faults, a DC current order optimization based strategy is proposed.
