Heterogeneous feature space based task selection machine for unsupervised transfer learning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
© 2015 IEEE. Transfer learning techniques try to transfer knowledge from previous tasks to a new target task with either fewer training data or less training than traditional machine learning techniques.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A construction of heterogeneous transfer learning model based on associative fusion of image feature data

open access: yesScientific Reports
Source images and predicted target images differ in image features. When heterogeneous transfer learning is applied some difficulties and further issues appear. For example, noise in image recognition appears and is required to be reduced.

Sparse Autoencoder Features for Classifications and Transferability

open access: yesProceedings of the 2025 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing
Sparse Autoencoders (SAEs) provide potentials for uncovering structured, human-interpretable representations in Large Language Models (LLMs), making them a crucial tool for transparent and controllable AI systems. We systematically analyze SAE for interpretable feature extraction from LLMs in safety-critical classification tasks.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

F-structure transfer-based statistical machine translation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we describe a statistical deep syntactic transfer decoder that is trained fully automatically on parsed bilingual corpora. Deep syntactic transfer rules are induced automatically from the f-structures of a LFG parsed bitext corpus by ...

Development and Testing of a 2-D Transfer CCD

open access: yes, 2006
This paper describes the development, operation, and characterization of charge-coupled devices (CCDs) that feature an electrode structure that allows the transfer of charge both horizontally and vertically through the image area. Such devices have been

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Testing the predictions of the feature-assembly hypothesis: evidence from the L2 acquisition of Spanish aspect morphology

open access: yes, 2011
According to the Feature-Assembly Hypothesis (FAH) (Lardiere 2005, 2009, Choi and Lardiere 2006a) convergence in second language acquisition is determined by whether L2 speakers can effectively reassemble existing features into new (L2) configurations ...
