Wnt Inhibition Safeguards Porcine Embryonic Stem Cells From the Acquisition of Extraembryonic Endoderm Cell Fates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reports that Wnt inhibitors safeguard porcine embryonic stem cells (ESCs) from acquiring the extraembryonic endoderm (XEN) lineage, and further develop an efficient strategy to derive XEN cells from ESCs. The XEN cells from ESCs exhibit similar transcriptome and chromatin accessibility features to XEN cells from embryos and contribute to ...

Updated Insights Into the Mechanism of Salt‐Induced Aggregation‐Based Single‐Molecule Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A salt‐gradient model is proposed to investigate the physical nature and update insights into the single molecule surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SM‐SERS). The release of Ag+ ions from the Ag NPs and the final formation of precipitate of AgCl with Cl‐ on the surface of the aggregated Ag NPs plays as the active and packaging shell to improve the SM‐

Plac1+ Tumor Cell‐Treg Interplay Supports Tumorigenesis and Progression of Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Meng et al. screen genes in the CTAs family and find Plac1 is specifically expressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cells. They reveal that Plac1 expression promotes HNSCC progression directly by activating PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Bioinspired Adaptive Neuron Enabled by Self‐powered Optoelectronic Memristor and Threshold Switching Memory for Neuromorphic Visual System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The self‐powered optoelectronic memristor based on ZnO/WOx heterojunction is developed, exhibiting the visual adaptation functions of desensitization and Weber's law. A bioinspired visual adaptive neuron is constructed, capable of converting light stimuli into dynamic spike trains.
