Fed-Batch cultivation ofSaccharomyces cerevisiae with increased content of Δ5,7-sterols

Cultivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with a linear nutrient feed was used to test the validity of a mathematical model describing changes in the physiological state of the culture. Markers of these changes were the concentrations of proteins and delta 5,7-sterols in yeast dry mass.

Evaluation of mammalian fed-batch cultivations by two different models

Simulations of fed-batch hybridoma cell cultures were performed with two different models, a new model suggested by Nielsen and an older model suggested by Batt and Kompala. The response of the new Nielsen model was less sensitive to changes in feed concentrations and frequencies than the Batt and Kompala model.

The Hagen–Poiseuille pump for parallel fed-batch cultivations in microbioreactors

Abstract We developed and applied a micropump for liquid flows of 0–150 nL/min. The operating principle of this pump is based on the Hagen–Poiseuille law. The main advantages of this pump are that an accurate continuous flow rate can be achieved, it is cheap to manufacture, easy to parallelize and easy to integrate in microtiter plates.
