AbstractTylosin‐producing Streptomyces fradiae was cultured on a synthetic medium with a high glutamate–glucose ratio. Tylosin batch fermentations with this medium were characterized by a high initial specific production rate of tylosin (qtylosin, mg/g h) that decreased as the fermentation progressed.

The principle of parabolic feed for a fed-batch culture of baker’s yeast

A parabolic nutrient supplementation has been derived by the specific growth rate, sugar conversion rate, and Pasteur effect, followed by high qualitative and quantitative biomass production with the lowest sugar consumption. The method produced about 95% cells in the G1 phase that were more resistant to drying and aging.

Growth of Photorhabdus luminescens in batch and glucose fed-batch culture

Photorhabdus luminescens, a bacterial symbiont of entomopathogenic biocontrol nematodes, was grown in batch and glucose fed-batch culture. The cell density, bioluminescence, production of antibiotic substances, number of cells with inclusion bodies, glucose concentration and oxygen uptake rate were recorded.

Comparison of a quadroma and its parent hybridomas in fed batch culture

A quadroma (#22 x 63), formed by the fusion of two hybridomas, and its parent hybridomas (#22 and FMC 63) were each grown in fed batch cultures in order to examine the change in antibody productivity over time of the quadroma compared to its parent hybridomas.
