Irrigation experiments in the lab: trust, environmental variability, and collective action
Research on collective action and common-pool resources is extensive. However, little work has concentrated on the effect of variability in resource availability and collective action, especially in the context of asymmetric access to resources.

The macula densa, a plaque of specialized tubular epithelial cells located in the distal tubule, monitors the NaCl concentration of the tubular fluid and sends an as of yet unidentified signal to control glomerular hemodynamics. In this mechanism, called tubuloglomerular feedback (TGF), an increase in NaCl concentration at the macula densa constricts ...

A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Hysteresis of the Antarctic Ice Sheet With a Coupled Climate‐Ice‐Sheet Model
The stability of the Antarctic ice sheet under different fixed CO2 levels and orbital configurations is explored using a coupled climate‐ice sheet model, starting from either a pre‐industrial ice sheet or an ice‐free, isostatically rebounded geometry ...

A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
