Temperature dependence of antiferromagnetic susceptibility in ferritin [PDF]
We show that antiferromagnetic susceptibility in ferritin increases with temperature between 4.2 K and 180 K (i. e. below the N\'{e}el temperature) when taken as the derivative of the magnetization at high fields ($30\times10^4$ Oe).

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Correlation of serum ferritin with severity of liver disease
Background and Aim: Serum ferritin is a marker of hepatic inflammation and has been studied to predict mortality in decompensated cirrhotics. No study has been done to evaluate ferritin as an independent marker of liver disease severity.

Application of crossflow ultrafiltration for scaling up the purification of a recombinant ferritin [PDF]
Ferritin proteins are taking center stage as smart nanocarriers for drug delivery due to their hollow cage-like structures and their unique 24-meric assembly.

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Autophagosome marker, LC3, is released extracellularly via several distinct pathways
This study establishes a novel HiBiT‐tagging system for ultrasensitive detection of LC3, revealing multiple pathways for its extracellular secretion. It demonstrates that LC3 is released via both autophagy‐dependent and ‐independent mechanisms, including a novel route for nonlipidated LC3‐I.

Sleep disturbance and serum ferritin levels associate with high impulsivity and impulse control disorders in male Parkinson\u27s Disease patients [PDF]
Impulse control disorders (ICDs) occur in a subset of Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients on dopaminergic medications however there are currently no reliable markers to identify patients at risk.
