Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Intradialytic Complications among End-Stage Kidney Disease Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis in Central Nepal

open access: yesJournal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal
Background Intradialytic complications remain a significant barrier to quality care in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD), particularly in resource-limited settings.

Effect of morphokinetics and morphological dynamics of cleavage stage on embryo developmental potential: A time-lapse study

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2018
Objective: Using a non-invasive method to select the most competent embryo is essential in in vitro fertilization (IVF). Since the beginning of clinical application of time-lapse technology, several studies have proposed models using the time-lapse ...

MicroRoboScope: A Portable and Integrated Mechatronic Platform for Magnetic and Acoustic Microrobotic Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the MicroRoboScope, a highly integrated, compact, and portable microrobotic experimentation platform combining electromagnetic and acoustic actuation with real‐time visual feedback into a single, end‐to‐end device. The system enables closed‐loop control and tracking algorithm experimentation within an accessible and unified hardware ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

Spatial dynamics of mTOR pathway activity during bovine embryo development

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
The mTOR pathway regulates cell proliferation, growth, survival, and metabolism by integrating nutritional and growth factor signaling. In embryos, its activity is influenced by the availability of nutrients in the culture medium, and it can affect the ...

The Largest Paracentric Inversion, The Highest Rate Of Recombinant Spermatozoa. Case Report: 46,Xy, Inv(2)(Q21.2Q37.3) And Literature Review

open access: yesBalkan Journal of Medical Genetics, 2014
Carriers of inversions involving euchromatic regions are at risk of having unbalanced offspring due to meiotic crossover. In carriers, recombination can occur during gametogenesis and cause genetically unbalanced sperm and subsequently unbalanced embryos.

Diversity of Pharmaceuticals Enhances Antibiotic Resistance in the Invertebrate Gut via Biofilm‐Mediated Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pharmaceutical diversity acts as an independent driver of antibiotic resistance in soil invertebrates. While bulk soil remains unaffected, the collembolan gut microbiome exhibits significant resistance gene enrichment under complex chemical exposure and diurnal warming.

Tetrastigma Hemsleyanum Polysaccharide Suppresses Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer by Disrupting the Hippo‐YAP/TEAD4‐PDIA4 Axis and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) exhibits addiction to chronic endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, which sustains an aggressive metastatic phenotype through activation of the unfolded protein response (UPR). Here, we identify a previously unrecognized “ER‐stress addiction” axis in which the Hippo pathway effector TEAD4 directly ...
