How Does Acute Blood Flow Restriction Resistance Training Influence Free Fatty Acids in Obese Individuals?

open access: yesQuality in Sport
Background FFAs play an important role in the obesity management. Recent studies suggest that BFR training may also influence metabolic responses, including the regulation of FFAs in the bloodstream.

Fractionated free fatty acids and their relation to diabetes status after Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass: A cohort study

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, 2021
Bariatric surgery is associated with near‐immediate remission of type 2 diabetes and recently suggested as a treatment for type 2 diabetes. Specifically, Roux‐en‐Y gastric bypass has been a focus of much research, but still, the mechanisms of action are ...

FFAs profile in the hypothalamus tissue.

open access: yes, 2013
FFAs were analyzed with UHPLC-MS/MS using MRM; FFA profile in the hypothalamus of intact mice (A). The FFA composition ratio of palmitate (C16:0), stearate (C18:0), oleinic acid (C18:1), linoleic acid (C18:2), arachidonic acid (C20:4) and DHA (C22:6) at ...

Interfacial Proton‐Relay Microenvironment Enables Self‐Driven Singlet Oxygen Generation under Neutral Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An interfacial proton‐relay microenvironment at MoS2‐CuCl heterostructures enables selective O2 activation to 1O2 under neutral conditions. Electron‐deficient sulfur sites mediate proton transfer to Cu‐bound O2, accelerating *OOH hydrogenation while suppressing O─O bond cleavage, achieving stable, efficient pollutant removal.

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum attenuate gossypol-induced hepatic lipotoxicity by altering intestinal microbiota for enriching microbial tryptophan metabolites in Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)

open access: yesMicrobiome
Background Free fatty acids (FFAs) are the main cause of fatty liver disease, which can be alleviated by modulation of intestinal microbiota. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum plays a key role in maintaining liver health, but the underlying mechanism remains

Schematic model of insulinotropic action of fasiglifam in cooperativity with endogenous FFAs in β cells FFAR1 activation by endogenous FFAs contributes to glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) in vivo (left).

open access: yes, 2013
Fasiglifam treatment potentiates FFA-induced insulin secretion as an allosteric modulator, whereas FFAs also augment the activity of fasiglifam, showing reciprocal positive cooperativity (middle).

Furfuryl Alcohol‐Driven Proton Supply Enables Efficient Photocatalytic H2O2 Production Beyond Water‐Based Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ZnIn2S4–carbon dot heterojunction enables photocatalytic H2O2 production coupled with furfuryl alcohol oxidation. In this redox system, furfuryl alcohol acts as both the electron donor and oxidation substrate, producing furoic acid with 100% selectivity and 98% conversion while supporting efficient H2O2 generation with a solar‐to‐chemical conversion (

Factors Impacting Former FFA Members’ Decision to Discontinue FFA After High School

open access: yesJournal of Research in Technical Careers, 2018
The purpose of this study was to explore the factors impacting former National FFA Organization (FFA) members’ decision to discontinue FFA membership after high school. Data were collected using focus groups. Data indicated areas of improvement for how to retain membership on the alumni level within colleges and other local FFA Alumni chapters ...

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

Influence of FFA Activities on Critical Thinking Skills in Texas Three-Star FFA Chapters [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Education, 2014
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of FFA activities on critical thinking skills of Texas FFA members in three-star FFA chapters. This descriptive study was conducted in eight purposively selected three-star FFA chapters throughout Texas. Three-star chapters are those chapters who have emerged as outstanding programs within the
