Hepatic heparan sulfate is a master regulator of hepcidin expression and iron homeostasis in human hepatocytes and mice. [PDF]
Hepcidin is a liver-derived peptide hormone that controls systemic iron homeostasis. Its expression is regulated by the bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6)/SMAD1/5/8 pathway and by the proinflammatory cytokine interleukin 6 (IL6).

Engineering Cadherin‐Guided MSC Aggregates to Empower Synergistic Neurovascular Repair After Stroke
A cadherin‐directed bioengineering strategy transforms mesenchymal stem cell aggregation from passive clustering into active functional programming. The resulting cadherin‐guided aggregates exhibit reinforced microstructure, stress resistance, and an enhanced pro‐regenerative secretome, enabling coordinated neurovascular repair in ischemic stroke.

SQDHD exerts neuroprotective effects and alleviates behavioral deficits in PIL mice, likely by inhibiting the JAK1‐STAT3 pathway in activated CVECs. These findings underscore the therapeutic potential of SQDHD and establish it as a promising candidate for the treatment of NPSLE.

Extracellular Vesicles‐Functionalized Biomaterials for Oral Disease Theragnostics
Combining EVs with biomaterials enables sustained, targeted delivery and overcomes traditional limitations. EVs show great promise in diagnosing and treating oral diseases, and could transform oral health management strategies. ABSTRACT Oral diseases impair oral function and are closely linked to various systemic conditions.

Non‐Histone Lactylation: A New Frontier in Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury
ABSTRACT Reperfusion therapy is the mainstay of treatment for ischemic stroke (IS) but frequently exacerbates secondary injury. Following cerebral ischemia and hypoxia, lactate accumulates markedly. Traditionally regarded as a metabolic byproduct, lactate has gained new significance with the discovery of protein lactylation. In addition to experimental

Nuclear localization of mouse fibroblast growth factor 2 requires N-terminal and C-terminal sequences [PDF]
In vertebrates, different isoforms of fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) exist, which differ by their N-terminal extension. They show different localization and expression levels and exert distinct biological effects. Nevertheless, genetic inactivation of

In this study, we used Foxp3‐fatemapping mice to examine the cell lineage stability of Treg cells in pregnancy. Ex‐Foxp3 cells were identified in gestational tissues. However, Treg cells retained lineage stability with no increased ex‐Foxp3 generation, regardless of inflammatory challenges that induce preterm birth.
