FGF23 from bench to bedside [PDF]
There is a strong association between elevated circulating fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23) levels and adverse outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) of all stages. Initially discovered as a regulator of phosphate and vitamin D homeostasis, FGF23 has now been implicated in several pathophysiological mechanisms that may negatively ...

Identification of a second Klotho interaction site in the C terminus of FGF23.
FGF23 interacts with a FGFR/KL-receptor complex to propagate cellular signaling, where its C-terminal C26 peptide is critical for engaging the co-receptor KL. We identify a distinct peptide sequence C28 residing in the FGF23 C terminus that regulates its

Mitochondria‐endoplasmic reticulum contact sites (MERCS) are areas where the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum closely interact. In this study, we utilize synthetic organelle glues to artificially engineer MERCS for regulating cardiomyocyte development, through which the immature and chemo‐plasticity issues of undifferentiated cells are addressed.

Glucocorticoids dexamethasone and prednisolone suppress fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23)
Fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) is a hormone mainly secreted by bone cells. Its most prominent effects are the regulation of renal phosphate reabsorption and calcitriol (active vitamin D, 1,25(OH)2D3) formation, effects dependent on its co-receptor ...

Proteomic signatures of equine dental tooth tissues in ageing and disease
Abstract Background Ageing and dental disease in horses lead to structural and functional deterioration of dental tissues, yet their molecular signatures remain poorly characterised. Understanding how these processes alter the protein composition of enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp is essential for improving equine oral health and identifying ...

In X‐linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), inherited loss‐of‐function mutations in the PHEX gene cause excess circulating levels of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), leading to lifelong renal phosphate wasting and hypophosphatemia.

Background Fibroblast growth factor-23 (FGF23) regulates body phosphate homeostasis primarily by increasing phosphaturia. It also acts as a vitamin D-regulating hormone.

Oncostatin M is a regulator of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) in UMR106 osteoblast-like cells
Renal phosphate and vitamin D metabolism is under the control of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), an endocrine and paracrine factor predominantly produced in bone. FGF23 formation is stimulated by active vitamin D, or parathyroid hormone (PTH), which

Hydrogel‐based drug delivery systems offer a promising approach for treating intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) by overcoming blood‐brain barrier limitations, enabling precise, sustained release of neuroprotective and anti‐inflammatory agents. These systems enhance treatment efficacy, but challenges remain in biosafety, drug penetration, and scalability ...
