Clinical Translation of Patient‐Derived Organoids: Perspectives for Personalized Therapy in Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Patient‐derived organoids (PDO) are accelerating precision medicine. These biological platforms allow for the autologous in vitro expansion of material from cancer patients in a considerably short period of time. These three‐dimensional models can faithfully recapitulate aspects of tissue heterogeneity, architecture, and relevant cellular ...

Targeting FGFR inhibition in cholangiocarcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Cholangiocarcinomas (CCAs) are rare but aggressive tumours of the bile ducts, which are often diagnosed at an advanced stage and have poor outcomes on systemic therapy. Somatic alterations with therapeutic implications have been identified in almost half

Cytotoxic and Pro‐Apoptotic Effects of the Compound 2‐Carboxy‐2‐Heptano‐Indolin‐3‐One in HeLa Cell Spheroids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Indolinones are compounds with recognized antineoplastic properties and can act as inhibitors of multiple kinases. However, the antitumor effects of 2‐carboxy‐2‐heptano‐indolin‐3‐one (IDC) have not yet been investigated in cervical cancer models.

Progress on the Study of Targeting FGFR in Squamous Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2018
Squamous cell lung cancer (SqCLC) is a unique clinical and histologic category of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Most of patients with SqCLC tend to be older, typically at advanced stage, associated with smoking and have more complications.

Bile Cell Block‐Derived DNA for Next‐Generation Sequencing in Cholangiocarcinoma: A Comparison With Surgical Specimens

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
Technological innovation through image analysis has become a reality. Radiation exposure is unavoidable during ERCP, yet reducing X‐ray dose degrades image quality. We evaluated an image‐processing technology (🄬Shimadzu) that reconstructs low‐dose fluoroscopic images to a quality comparable with standard‐dose images.

The FGF/FGFR System in the Biology and Therapeutic Landscape of Pediatric CNS Tumors

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) tumors are the most common solid malignancies in children, comprising a highly heterogeneous group of neoplasms defined by distinct molecular alterations and clinical behaviors. Advances in molecular genetics have underscored the relevance of specific signaling pathways in driving pediatric tumorigenesis, among ...

Physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling and simulation of topiramate in populations with renal and hepatic impairment and considerations for drug–drug interactions

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 510-522, March 2025.
Abstract Topiramate (TPM) is a broad‐spectrum antiepileptic drug (AED) commonly prescribed for approved and off‐label uses. Routine monitoring is suggested for clinical usage of TPM in special population due to its broad side effect profile. Therefore, it is crucial to further explore its pharmacokinetic characteristics.

4′‐Hydroxywogonin Attenuates Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression by Suppressing Gas6/Axl‐PI3K/AKT Signaling

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
4′‐Hydroxywogonin, a flavonoid derived from Scutellaria baicalensis, inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma progression partly by suppressing Gas6/Axl‐PI3K/AKT signaling, inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, and reducing metastatic potential. It also suppresses xenograft tumor growth without evident hepatotoxicity.
