Characterization of the Components and Functional Properties of a Plasma-Derived Fibrin Sealant

open access: yesPlasmatology, 2023
Background The activity and purity of Fibrin Sealant Grifols are described in this article. This fibrin sealant contains two components (fibrinogen and thrombin) that mimic the final stages of clotting. Fibrin sealants are primarily used as an adjunct to

Influence of fibrin, fibrinogen and fibrinogen degradation products on cultured endothelial cells

open access: yesAtherosclerosis, 1983
Thin films of a fibrin-agar mixture induced significant morphological changes in porcine aortic endothelial cells in vitro. The cells became spindle shaped, piled up and consequently the intercellular spaces widened. These morphological changes became more significant with higher concentrations of fibrin.

Prediction of Arterial Extravasation in Pelvic Fracture Patient with Stable Hemodynamics Using Coagulation Biomarkers: A Prospective Observational Cohort Study. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Orthop Case Rep
Intoduction: In patients who are hemodynamically stable, thrombosis indicators including fibrin degradation products (FDP), D-dimer, prothrombin time-international normalized ratio (PT-INR), along with the FDP-to-fibrinogen proportion may be capable ...

DR-70 (fibrinogen-fibrin degradation products) as a prognostic biomarker in dogs with neoplasms

open access: yesVeterinary Quarterly
Fibrinogen–fibrin degradation products (DR-70) are derived from tumor cells or metastases. Our previous study reported the diagnostic values in dogs with tumors, but no research has yet to be conducted to establish DR-70 as a prognostic marker.

Evaluation of hematologic and coagulation changes associated with hyperfibrinolysis in feline acute trauma. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Adv Vet Anim Res
Objectives: This study investigates the hypothesis that hyperfibrinolysis may occur in cats with acute trauma, leading to alterations in hematological, biochemical, and coagulation parameters, particularly in severe cases.

Association of fibrinogen, fibrin degradation product, and D-dimer level with disease severity in hospitalized COVID-19 patients – A cross-sectional study in Eastern India

open access: yesNational Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 2022
Background: Although most of the COVID-19 patients presented with mild symptoms and recovered, a considerable number of cases became serious with poor prognosis in an unpredictable manner.

THE MECHANISM OF CLOTS FORMATION IN BLOOD PLASMA UNDER THE ACTION OF CHITIN DERIVATIVES [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnologia Acta, 2019
The aim of the research was to find out the clot formation by the action of chitin derivates. The biochemical and immunologic investigation methods such as obtaining of fibrinogen, chitosan derivates, electrophoresis in PAAG, Western blot analysis, ELISE,

FIBRIN AND FIBRINOGEN DEGRADATION PRODUCTS IN MALIGNANCY [PDF]

open access: yesMedical Journal Armed Forces India, 1996
Sixty four patients of cancer, comprising of 39 leukaemia, 8 lymphomas and 17 cases of solid tumours were included in this study. Quantitative estimation of FDP, fibrinogen and platelets were done in all. Elevated levels of FDP (≥ 10 µgm/mL) were found in 29 patients.

A Novel Method for Determining Fibrin/Fibrinogen Degradation Products and Fibrinogen Threshold Criteria via Artificial Intelligence in Massive Hemorrhage during Delivery with Hematuria. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Clin Med
(1) Background: Although the diagnostic criteria for massive hemorrhage with organ dysfunction, such as disseminated intravascular coagulation associated with delivery, have been empirically established based on clinical findings, strict logic has yet to
