Immunclocalization of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor and Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor-1 and Receptor-2 in Rat Cranial Sutures

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1998
Craniosynostosis is a common disorder with an unknown etiology. Recent genetic mapping studies have demonstrated a strong linkage between several familial craniosynostotic syndromes and mutations in fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGF-R1) and 2 (FGF-R2).

Basic fibroblast growth factor and fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 in human meningiomas

Current Medical Science, 2005
The expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 (FGFR-1) in human meningiomas and the relationships between their expression and the tumors' histological features and angiogenesis were investigated by means of immunohistochemical technique.

Subcellular localization of basic fibroblast growth factor and fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 in pituitary adenomas

Brain Tumor Pathology, 2002
The aim of this study was to assess the subcellular localization of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) and fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) in pituitary adenomas. We studied 61 patients who had primary pituitary adenomas and underwent operation. The immunohistochemistry for bFGF, FGFR1, and MIB-1 was examined in paraffin-embedded tissues.

Discovery of a Potent Degrader for Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1/2

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021
AbstractAberrant activation of FGFR signaling occurs in many cancers, and ATP‐competitive FGFR inhibitors have received regulatory approval. Despite demonstrating clinical efficacy, these inhibitors exhibit dose‐limiting toxicity, potentially due to a lack of selectivity amongst the FGFR family and are poorly tolerated.

Immunohistochemical localization of growth factors fibroblast growth factor-1 and fibroblast growth factor-2 and receptors fibroblast growth factor receptor-2 and fibroblast growth factor receptor-3 in normal oral epithelium, epithelial dysplasias, and squamous cell carcinoma

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2002
Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) have been identified in a variety of carcinomas, but there are few studies concerning their presence in oral cancers. The objective of this study was to determine whether FGF-1, FGF-2, and high affinity receptors FGFR2 and FGFR3 are present in the pathogenesis of oral epithelial dysplasias ...

The structure and function of vertebrate fibroblast growth factor receptor 1

The International Journal of Developmental Biology, 2002
The vertebrate fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) is alternatively spliced generating multiple splice variants that are differentially expressed during embryo development and in the adult body. The restricted expression patterns of FGFR1 isoforms, together with differential expression and binding of specific ligands, leads to activation of ...

Uterine fibroblast growth factor-2 and embryonic fibroblast growth factor receptor-1 at the beginning of gastrulation in the rabbit

Anatomy and Embryology, 1996
Fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) induces gastrulation of rabbit blastocysts in vitro and is present in the uterine secretion at day 6 after mating. The following study was made in order to show if changes in the uterine FGF-2 concentration or in the FGF receptor concentration of the embryonic tissues point to a regulation of this event. By the use of

Transcriptional regulation of human fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 by E2F-1

Gene, 2009
Overexpression of fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) has been observed in many types of human tumors; however, the regulatory mechanism of human FGFR expression is still largely unknown. In the present study, we first identified the transcriptional initiation site in the human FGFR 1 gene by 5'-RACE.

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 gene amplification in gastric adenocarcinoma

Human Pathology, 2015
Gastric adenocarcinomas are associated with a poor prognosis due to the fact that the tumor has often metastasized by the time of diagnosis. Thus, identification of novel therapeutic targets is highly desirable. Here, we examined gene copy number of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1), a potential target for tyrosine kinase inhibitors, and ...

A Natural Kinase-Deficient Variant of Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 1

Biochemistry, 1996
A fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 variant missing 37 amino acids from the carboxy-terminal tyrosine kinase catalytic domain was discovered in human lung fibroblasts and several other human cell lines. The receptor variant binds specifically to acidic fibroblast growth factor but has no tyrosine kinase activity.
