Edge Detection on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)

open access: yesInternational Journal For Multidisciplinary Research
Edges are significant local changes in the image and are very important features for analysing images. Edges typically occur on the boundary between two different regions in an image. An edge in an image is a significant local change in the image intensity, usually associated with a discontinuity in either the image intensity or the first derivative of

General‐Purpose Hexagonal Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuit with a >30 GHz Free Spectral Range

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A compact and low insertion loss programmable photonic circuit is demonstrated based on a 7‐cell hexagonal waveguide mesh with a large free spectral range (FSR) of 31 GHz for a 6‐gate ring resonator configuration. Vernier rings and a dual‐injected ring configuration are demonstrated on this circuit with a further improved FSR of 93 GHz.

HEART RATE COMPUTATION IMPLEMENTED ON FIELD PROGRAMMABLE GATE ARRAY BOARD

open access: yesTechne, 2010
Heart rate is the most basic information of heart activities. This paper aims to describe a possible real time system to detect electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, count the R-R interval of the ECG signal, and compute the heart rate.
