Detection and characterization of pangola stunt Fijivirus from Australia using cloned cDNA probes
Four cDNA clones were generated from the genomic dsRNA of an Australian isolate of pangola stunt Fijivirus (PaSV). Each clone hybridized with nucleic acid extracts from PaSV infected plants but not healthy plants. Further, each clone hybridized with more than one segment of the PaSV dsRNA genome.

Molecular Analysis of Fiji Disease Fijivirus Genome Segments 1 and 3
Fiji disease fijivirus (FDV) genomic segments 1 (S1) and 3 (S3) were completely sequenced. FDV S1 comprised 4,532 nt and was predicted to encode a 170.6 kDa protein. FDV S3 comprised 3,623 nt and was predicted to encode a 135.5 kDa protein. The terminal sequences of S1 and S3 were 5' AAGUUUUU......CAGCUAGCGUC 3' and 5' AAGUUUUU......CAGCAGAUGUC 3 ...

Mal de Río Cuarto virus (MRCV) is a newly described species of the genus Fijivirus, family Reoviridae. The nucleotide sequence of four MRCV genome segments was determined. MRCV S1, S2, S3 and S6 were predicted to encode proteins of 168.4, 134.4, 141.7 and 90 kDa, respectively.

Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) is a recently described member of the genus Fijivirus, family Reoviridae. The roles of the proteins encoded by the SRBSDV genome have rarely been studied. In a yeast two-hybrid (YTH) assay in which SRBSDV P6, a putatively multifunctional protein, was used as bait and an SRBSDV cDNA library was used as ...

Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV), an insect- and plant-infecting reovirus of the genus Fijivirus, induced the formation of virus-containing tubules in infected plant and insect vector cells. Expression of the nonstructural protein P7-1 of SRBSDV in insect cells by a recombinant baculovirus resulted in the formation of tubules with ...

The nucleotide sequences of genomic segments S7 and S9 of Mal de Río Cuarto virus (MRCV, Fijivirus group II) have been determined, thus completing the entire genome sequence of the virus. These segments showed a non-overlapping bicistronic structure, as in other members of the genus. MRCV S7 ORF-1 had a length of 1086 bp and encoded a 41.5 kDa putative
