Myosin-X recruits lamellipodin to filopodia tips
Myosin-X (MYO10), a molecular motor localizing to filopodia, is thought to transport various cargo to filopodia tips, modulating filopodia function. Yet, only a few MYO10 cargoes have been described.

Filopodia powered by class x myosin promote fusion of mammalian myoblasts
Skeletal muscle fibers are multinucleated cellular giants formed by the fusion of mononuclear myoblasts. Several molecules involved in myoblast fusion have been discovered, and finger-like projections coincident with myoblast fusion have also been ...

An algorithm for quantifying filopodia of multiple cells with weak fluorescence signal
Filopodia function as cellular sensors, detecting the microenvironment and directing cell migration. They play a crucial role in cancer metastasis. Quantifying the filopodia characteristics of cancer cells is a prerequisite for studying the complex role ...

This study proposes a potential device design for joint cartilage replacement. Silica‐polytetrahydrofuran (SiO2‐PolyTHF) hybrids with customizable mechanical properties were developed to mimic the characteristics of a natural meniscus. These were synthesized through a two‐pot sol–gel hybrid process.

Dynamics of filopodia tip complexes [PDF]
The shape of many eukaryotic cells depends on the actin cytoskeleton, and changes in actin assembly dynamics underlie many changes in cell shape. Ena/VASP-family actin polymerases, for example, modulate cell shape by locally accelerating actin filament ...

Filopodia in cell adhesion, 3D migration and cancer cell invasion [PDF]
This review discusses recent advances in our understanding of the role filopodia and filopodia-like structures in cell adhesion and three dimensional (3D) cell migration both in vitro and in vivo.
