The convex controller: controllability in finite time

International Journal of Systems Science, 1985
The controllability of the discrete-time linear system xk+1 = Axk + uk; uk∊Ω = 0, 1, …, where the input set n is an arbitrary convex set, is studied. The problem of controllability in finite time is examined, that is, conditions on A, Ω are established which ensure the existence of a finite N such that the system is controllable in N steps for any ...

Adaptive finite-time control of nonlinear systems

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
Global adaptive finite-time control problems for two special classes of nonlinear control systems with parametric uncertainties are considered. A simple design approach is given based on Lyapunov function and homogeneity. The feedback laws can be constructed in the form with fractional powers as shown in the design examples.

Finite-time bearing-only formation control

2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017
This paper presents two bearing-only control laws that guarantee almost global convergence of the desired formation in finite time. For each control law, the equilibrium set is firstly studied. Then, we provide rigorous analysis on asymptotic convergence as well as finite time convergence of the system to the desired equilibrium.

Finite-Time Stabilization and Optimal Feedback Control

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2016
Finite-time stability involves dynamical systems whose trajectories converge to an equilibrium state in finite time. Since finite-time convergence implies nonuniqueness of system solutions in reverse time, such systems possess non-Lipschitzian dynamics.

Finite-Time Control Problem

2016
In this chapter, we present the finite-time control problem of Markov jump linear systems for the case in which the controller does not have access to the state of the Markov chain. A necessary optimal condition, which is nonlinear with respect to the optimizing variables, is introduced and the corresponding solution is obtained through a variational ...

Kinematic finite-time control of robotic manipulators

2015 10th International Workshop on Robot Motion and Control (RoMoCo), 2015
This paper addresses the kinematic control problem of the non-redundant and/or redundant manipulators. A computationally simple class of the Jacobian transpose control algorithms is proposed for the end-effector trajectory tracking. These controllers use a new non-singular Terminal Sliding Mode (TSM) manifold, as being a non-linear integral mapping of ...

Finite-Time Control of Linear Systems: A Survey

2006
This chapter illustrates various finite-time analysis and design problems for linear systems. Most of this work deals with continuous-time systems. First, some conditions for finite-time stability and boundedness are presented; then we turn to the design problem.
