A Finite Time Functional Observer For Linear Systems

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
This paper presents a finite time functional observer for linear systems, i.e., an observer which estimates directly linear functions of the state of a linear system in a predefined finite time. The finite time functional observer is demonstrated on an academic and on a practical example.

Design of Finite-Time Convergent Functional Observers

2019 8th International Conference on Systems and Control (ICSC), 2019
In this paper a finite-time convergence fault estimator based on functional observers is presented. The stability conditions of the observer are given and their performance evaluation is made through numerical simulations.

Finite Time Observers for a class of nonlinear system

2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14), 2014
In this paper, we consider the synthesis of Finite Time Observers for a class of nonlinear systems by solving some LMIs problem. We develop a method to calculate a constant gain which is used to determine an observer for a class of nonlinear systems. An application to the manipulator arm illustrates the proposed theory and point out the ameliorations ...

Finite‐time observability of probabilistic Boolean control networks

Asian Journal of Control, 2022
AbstractIn this paper, the finite‐time observability (FO) of probabilistic Boolean control networks (PBCNs) based on set reachability and parallel extension is investigated. Under algebraic state space representation of PBCNs, finite‐time set reachability (FSR), finite‐time single input sequence set reachability (FSSSR), finite‐time arbitrary input ...

Finite time convergent observers for nonlinear systems

42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004
In this note we consider the state estimation problem for nonlinear systems. In a first step we outline the design of an observer for single output nonlinear systems in observer normal form. The estimate of this observer converges to the exact system state within predefined finite time.

Finite time observers and observability

29th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1990
A notion of finite time observer for partially observed deterministic control systems is introduced. The observer dynamics are given by a Hamilton-Jacobi equation, and the observer is consistent under a natural observability condition. An observability grammian for nonlinear systems is introduced, and is used to study the time evolution of sets of ...

Global Finite-Time Observers for Lipschitz Nonlinear Systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2011
This technical note presents a global finite-time observer design for a class of systems with Lipschitz nonlinearity. By applying a finite-time stability theorem and a careful selection of the homogeneity powers and weights, the problem of global and finite-time stable observers is studied.

Finite-Time Interval Observers’ Design for Switched Systems

Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 2019
In this study, a finite-time interval observers’ design method is developed for switched systems suffering from disturbance. First, the interval observer frames for the systems are constructed. Then, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee that the upper and lower error systems are both positive and finite-time bound. Unlike the current studies,

Robust finite time observer design for multicellular converters

International Journal of Systems Science, 2011
In this article, a nonlinear finite time observer is designed for multicellular converters. The aim is to estimate the capacitor voltages by taking into account the hybrid behaviour of the converter. This article extends the validity of the strong Lyapunov function, proposed in Moreno and Osorio (Moreno, J., and Osorio, M.

A Finite-Time Stable Observer for Relative Attitude Estimation

2019 IEEE 58th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2019
Relative motion estimation of one rigid body with respect to another is a problem that has immediate applications to formations and maneuvers involving multiple unmanned vehicles or collision avoidance between vehicles. A finite-time stable observer for relative attitude estimation of a rigid object using onboard sensors on an unmanned vehicle, is ...
