A continuous-time observer which converges in finite time
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2002It is shown that a continuous-time observer, which comprises two standard nth order observers and a delay D, can observe the state of an nth order linear system in finite time D exactly. In particular, (almost) any convergence time D can be assigned, independent of the observer eigenvalues.

Finite-time observer for the output depending observer form
53rd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2014— This paper investigates the problem of global finite-time observer design for a class of nonlinear systems which can be transformed into the output depending normal form. By introducing the output-dependent gains, we prove that the recent result can be adapted to design a global finite-time observer for the studied normal form.
