Differences in virus receptor for type I and type II feline infectious peritonitis virus. [PDF]
Feline infectious peritonitis viruses (FIPVs) are classified into type I and type II serogroups. Here, we report that feline aminopeptidase N (APN), a cell-surface metalloprotease on the intestinal, lung and kidney epithelial cells, is a receptor for ...

Nano‐ and Micro‐Sized Solid Materials Used as Antiviral Agents
Due to the rise of viral infections in humans and possible viral outbreaks, the use of nano‐ or micro‐sized materials as antiviral agents is rapidly increasing. This review explores their antiviral properties against RNA and DNA viruses, either as a prevention or a treatment tool, by delving into their mechanisms of action and how to properly assess ...

Benzylidene-bis-(4-Hydroxycoumarin) and Benzopyrano- Coumarin Derivatives: Synthesis, 1H/13C-NMR Conformational and X-ray Crystal Structure Studies and In Vitro Antiviral Activity Evaluations [PDF]
We report on the synthesis of 4-hydroxycoumarin dimers 1-15 bearing an aryl substituent on the central linker and fused benzopyranocoumarin derivatives 16-20 and on their in vitro broad anti-DNA and RNA virus activity evaluations. The chemical identities

Sequence analysis of the 3′ end of the feline coronavirus FIPV 79-1146 genome: Comparison with the genome of porcine coronavirus TGEV reveals large insertions [PDF]
The genetic information, carried on mRNA 6 of feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV) strain 79-1146, was determined by sequence analysis of cDNA clones derived from the 3' end of the FIPV genome. Two ORFs were found, encoding polypeptides of 11K (ORF-1) and 22K (ORF-2).

Recent Advances in Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases
Viral diseases are a major threat to human and animal health, as illustrated by recent pandemics like COVID‐19 and African swine fever (ASF). Timely, accurate detection of viral infections is critical for effective disease control. Among diverse diagnostic techniques, lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has become a widely used on‐site testing tool, owing ...

Within the hepatitis E virus (HEV) ORF1 polyprotein, the X domain interacts with viral RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp), forming a functional “pocket‐like” cavity (PC) that is crucial for viral replication. Structure‐based screening, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assays, and HEV model validation collectively identify saikosaponin D and ...

Pathogenesis of feline enteric coronavirus infection. [PDF]
Fifty-one specific pathogen-free (SPF) cats 10 weeks to 13 years of age were infected with a cat-to-cat fecal-oral passed strain of feline enteric coronavirus (FECV). Clinical signs ranged from unapparent to a mild and self-limiting diarrhea. Twenty-nine
