On fission and the devolatilization of a moon of fission origin

Earth and Planetary Science Letters, 1978
Abstract Observations of solar-type spectroscopic binary stars show that most of these objects were formed by rotational fission. By analogy, this empirical confirmation of the fission process is used to support the fission origin of the moon.

Statistical theory of fission and fission asymmetry

Nuclear Physics, 1964
Abstract The statistical theory of Bohr and Wheeler is used for the explanation of fission asymmetry. It is shown that the observable fission asymmetry is determined mainly by the number of degrees of freedom of the fissile nucleus at the moment of rupture. Good agreement is obtained with experimental data.

The Fission Process and the Characteristics of Fission

Abstract The discovery of fission is explained by the liquid drop model. Lise Meitner’s flight from Nazi Germany with the help of Neils Bohr and how Bohr helped other escaping Jews. Fissile, fertile, and fissionable processes are explained.
