Optimal sliding mode controllers for attitude tracking of spacecraft [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper studies two optimal sliding mode control laws using integral sliding mode control (ISM) for some spacecraft attitude tracking problems. Integral sliding mode control combining the first order sliding mode and optimal control is applied to ...

Learning-Based Robust Fixed-Time Terminal Sliding Mode Control

open access: yes2025 IEEE 14th Data Driven Control and Learning Systems (DDCLS)
In this paper, we develop and analyze an integral fixed-time sliding mode control method for a scenario in which the system model is only partially known, utilizing Gaussian processes. We present two theorems on fixed-time convergence. The first theorem addresses the fully known system model, while the second considers situations where the system's ...

Adaptive Backstepping Controller Design for Stochastic Jump Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this technical note, we improve the results in a paper by Shi et al., in which problems of stochastic stability and sliding mode control for a class of linear continuous-time systems with stochastic jumps were considered.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Terminal sliding mode control strategy design for second-order nonlinear system

open access: yes, 2012
This study mainly focuses on the terminal sliding mode control (TSMC) strategy design, including an adaptive terminal sliding mode control (ATSMC) and an exact-estimator-based terminal sliding mode control (ETSMC) for second-order nonlinear dynamical ...

Novel fuzzy logic controllers with self-tuning capability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Two controllers which extend the PD+I fuzzy logic controller to deal with the plant having time varying nonlinear dynamics are proposed. The adaptation ability of the first self tuning PD+I fuzzy logic controller (STPD+I_31) is achieved by adjusting the ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Time-Dependent Global Nonsingular Fixed-Time Terminal Sliding Mode Control-Based Speed Tracking of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper studies global nonsingular fixed-time terminal sliding mode control (GNFTSMC) for a second-order uncertain permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) system to further improve its speed tracking performance.
