A Flatness-Based Nonlinear Control Scheme for Wire Tension Control of Hoisting Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A double-rope winding hoisting system (DRWHS) is usually employed to transport weight or workers in mines usually from ultra-deep underground (>1000m).

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Implementation and Experimental Verification of Flow Rate Control Based on Differential Flatness in a Tilting-Ladle-Type Automatic Pouring Machine

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, we study an advanced pouring control system using a tilting-ladle-type automatic pouring machine. In such a machine, it is difficult to precisely pour the molten metal into the pouring basin of the mold, as the outflow from the ladle can ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Modern Semi-Active Control Schemes for a Suspension with MR Actuator for Vibration Attenuation

open access: yesActuators, 2021
This article describes semi-active modern control schemes for a quarter-vehicle suspension with a magnetorheological damper (MRD) to attenuate vibrations and simultaneously improve the passenger comfort and the vehicle road-holding. The first solution is

Sensorless Tracking Control for a “Full-Bridge Buck Inverter–DC Motor” System: Passivity and Flatness-Based Design

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
A sensorless control based on the exact tracking error dynamics passive output feedback (ETEDPOF) methodology is proposed for executing the angular velocity trajectory tracking task on the “full-bridge Buck inverter–DC motor” system.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Tracking Control of Overhead Crane Using Output Feedback With Adaptive Unscented Kalman Filter and Condition-Based Selective Scaling

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Most of the advanced nonlinear control strategies reported in the literature for underactuated mechanisms, such as overhead cranes, require the knowledge of all state variables. For cranes, the state vector includes variables related to the load sway and

Real-time obstacle collision avoidance for fixed wing aircraft using B-splines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A real-time collision avoidance algorithm is developed based on parameterizing an optimal control problem with B-spline curves. The optimal control problem is formulated in output space rather than control or input space, this is feasible because of ...
